Heart Support Australia was pleased to co-author a paper in the recent edition of Heart, Lung & Circulation with our friends from Bowral and District Hospital, showing how peer support embedded within cardiac rehabilitation programs can in fact improve patient outcomes and experience. 

We hope this continues to show how important embedding the lived experience within healthcare can actually improve outcomes for patients.

Heart Support Australia’s Cholesterol Awareness Week 2025 campaign in partnership with Advara HeartCare has been selected as a Top 5 Finalist for the Outstanding Patient Campaign Award in the 2026 Patients’ Choice Awards.

Patient campaigns play an important role in raising awareness and improving outcomes for the people they reach. This was recognised through nomination and public voting for its impact on patient care and outcomes.

Winners will be announced late August.
