Heart Support Australia’s National Executive team comprises of experienced staff members who oversee and coordinate the trained volunteer peer support group leaders and hospital visitors across Australia.
Dr Christian Verdicchio – Chief Executive Officer
Dr Verdicchio is the CEO of Heart Support Australia leading Australia’s largest consumer organization in cardiovascular disease. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in cardiology, governance and corporate management to lead Heart Support Australia ensuring it continues to play a key role in providing support and advocacy for those heart disease patients living in Australia. Alison Lamb – Admin & Fundraising Manager
Alison has completed the FIA Certificate of Fundraising, the Diploma of Business Administration and is currently studying the Diploma of Leadership & Management. She began working in the not-for-profit sector due to her combined interests of volunteering, community, administration, and logistics. Read more.
Helen McLean – National Program Coordinator
Helen McLean is a highly regarded Registered Nurse/Midwife with a wealth of knowledge and skills in cardiovascular care. Helen has improved cardiac care through co-designing tertiary, secondary and community cardiac rehabilitation and chronic heart failure programs, First Nations heart health programs, and has developed new models of care including phone coaching and telehealth programs. Bob Stirling – National Patient Visitor Instructor
Bob brings a wealth of experience in conducting patient visits in hospitals and was a key person in creating the training material that we now use for new volunteers who visit patients in hospitals or conduct over the phone support. Read more.
