Confronting cholesterol: bringing it all together to solve Australia’s ASCVD crisis report
Heart Support was pleased to work with leading experts across Australia to create this important evidence-based report focused on optimising lipid levels for people with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in Australia. The report outlines five key recommendations to improve secondary prevention practices, with a particular emphasis on lipid management.
The report was independently prepared by Evohealth, a specialist health advisory firm, in partnership with an expert Advisory Committee and informed by interviews with stakeholders comprising of clinicians, research leaders, patient advocates and a comprehensive review of published and grey literature.

Federal Budget 2025 Announcement: Medicare Heart Health Check Saved
Heart Support Australia is pleased to announce that our collaborative advocacy campaign in conjunction with the Heart Foundation and other key stakeholders to save the Medicare Heart Health Check has been saved after the recent budget announcement.
Following the budget announcement the Heart Health Check will be extended for another 3-years, and will no doubt continue to save thousands of lives and identify those who are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease and intervene earlier to address key risk factors.
Heart Support Australia wishes to thank the Heart Foundation who led this key advocacy campaign in addition to the key bodies who came together during this campaign including Her Heart, ACRA, Australian Cardiovascular Alliance, Hearts4heart, Heart of the Nation, CSANZ, Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

The Health & Global Institute Cardiovascular Disease Global Symposium March 2025
Heart Support Australia CEO Dr Christian Verdicchio was invited on behalf of the HGPI in Japan to provide expert input about Australia’s healthcare system response to cardiovascular disease. In an Asia-Pacific high-level forum the invited speakers provided policy case studies from their respective countries to provide insight into the state of affairs across the Asia-Pacific region to control cardiovascular disease.
