New partnership makes Healthy Heart Program more accessible to health consumers

Heart Support Australia has been working with Bellerive Retirement Village to bring the Healthy Heart Program to village residents.

Facilitated by a nurse, the program is a great opportunity for residents to come together, share their experiences and build peer support relationships in a non-judgemental environment.

"We were blown away by the response we had to the program on the first day it was run. The turnout was so great that we have decided to facilitate two weekly programs at Bellerive to make sure participants get the most out of it," said Heart Support Australia CEO Amy Squires.

The program will run Tuesday mornings at 10am and Wednesday afternoons at 1pm for the next eight weeks.

"This is an excellent opportunity for residents to learn self-management skills that address their individual risk factors. It also gives them weekly access to a nurse which we know a lot of health consumers value, particularly if they, or a loved one, have recently experienced an event," said Ms Squires.

Heart Support Australia is working with other partners to make the Healthy Heart Program accessible to health consumers across the community. If you would like us to facilitate a program for you please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing or calling 02 62530097.
