On Wednesday 2 October, Heart Support Australia will be launching Hearty Lunches, a weekly lunch time meeting that will be facilitated by Senior Clinical Scientist and National Program Facilitator Shoukat Khan.
Every Wednesday between 12.30pm and 2.00pm, interested parties are invited to bring a packed lunch and unpack any questions they may have around their heart, common cardiac conditions, cardiac investigations and cardiac treatments.
These meetings will encourage hearty conversation around a range of topics including current medical news and events, tools and lifestyle changes one can make to reduce their risk of a cardiac event, secondary prevention of cardiac events and other support services available in the community. Heart Support Australia encourages participants to send through any specific questions they may have or topics they are interested in prior to the meeting.
"A patients heart journey does not end after treatment or surgery. Cardiac events often require life long commitments to change on the part of the patient and this can be difficult to navigate. These meetings provide a great opportunity for participants to ask questions, meet others in the heart health community and share stories," said Mr Khan.
All are welcome however spaces are limited.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
*Please note that this is not a catered lunch however tea and coffee is available.
