Heart Support Australia’s Annual General Meeting was held on the 5 October 2018 at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden. Members from the Caboolture, Albury-Wodonga and Perth branches made the journey to Canberra to participate in the presentations held across the day and take part in the meeting.
Jennifer Wressell updated members and the board on Heart Support Australia’s flagship Healthy Heart Program, Heart Support Australia’s video was screened, guest speaker Mark Otter shared his inspirational story (as well as some healthy living tips) and Monica Glasgow walked participants through a web and social media presentation.
The meeting itself opened just before midday and included updates from the Chair, Kelli Sadler and CEO, Amy Squires. Three new board members were welcomed to Heart Support Australia’s board. Patricia Patterson, Alan Galbraith and Wesley Willcott bring with them expertise that will support Heart Support Australia’s mission to provide support to people affected by a heart event and work as a partner in health to empower people to achieve their quality of life.
Participants were also introduced to the new staff members at National Office. Healthy Heart Program Facilitator Roya Behnia, Communications and Media Manager Monica Glasgow and Branch Liaison Officer Katy Dwyer have all joined the National Office.
Following the meeting, participants enjoyed lunch together at the Canberra Southern Cross Club. It was wonderful opportunity for everyone to reflect on the year’s achievements....
No doubt next year will be just as productive!
