Heart Language; how cardiac events may present differently women

This Women’s Health Week, Heart Support Australia and COTA ACT are empowering women to take control of their heart health through a free public seminar.

The Heart Language seminar takes participants through the most current statistics relating to women’s heart health and outlines specific risk factors and warning signs associated with cardiac events in women.

Hosted by Senior Clinical Scientist Shoukat Khan, Heart Language looks at how cardiac events may present differently in women.

Heart attack symptoms in women can be subtle and are not always easily diagnosed. 40% of women won’t experience the typical chest pain associated with a heart attack and instead may experience extreme fatigue, nausea and lightheadedness.

With over 35 years' experience in the health sector and a passion for cardiovascular pathology testing and research, Shoukat has been working with Heart Support Australia to help Australians take control of their heart health.
