Heart Support Australia’s San Remo Branch has celebrated its 20 year anniversary this month!
Celebrations were held at the Bass Coast Community Health Centre on the 20th November 2018, attracting a diverse range of attendees including local government, allied health representatives, community services representatives and current members of Heart Support Australia.
Recently retired Mayor of Bass Coast Shire, Pamela Rothfield, gave the keynote speech at the event. Heart Support Australia CEO Amy Squires was also in attendance and gave an update on pertinent matters relating to the organisation.
Len Chatfield of the San Remo Branch was the lucky winner of the raffle on the day, taking home a hamper valued at $200!
In the lead up to the 20th Anniversary event, the San Remo Branch had been out in their community, hosting a Heart Support Australia Promotional Stall and selling raffle tickets. This provided an excellent opportunity for members to mix, mingle and advice people outside of the Branch of the mission and vision of Heart Support Australia.
The efforts of the Branch in the lead up to the event raised over $1100. President of Heart Support Australia’s San Remo Branch John Charlett was thrilled with the outcome, which was made possible by the hard work, dedication and commitment of the volunteers at the Branch.
“Many, many thanks, to all of our group for playing such an enthusiastic, generous, competent and willing role, in ensuring the successful completion of our first 20 years concluding with our 20 year Anniversary Celebration, “ he said.
Heart Support Australia sincerely thanks the San Remo Branch for the outstanding contributions they have made to the organisation in their 20 years of service. National Office looks forward to further work with the San Remo Branch, providing information, encouragement and support to Australians who have been affected by a heart event.
