Judy is a seasoned professional with an experience of over four decades in professional fundraising, education, and volunteer work. She started her career as a teacher with one of the top schools in the UK and continued working as a science, mathematics and computer science teacher for 15 years. A successful fundraising campaign for the school where she was teaching gave her the taste of fundraising and it became her new career. Over the next 30 years, Judy has taken various roles including Fundraising Manager at Hornsby Hospital; Marketing Manager at Anglicare ACT; Director of Development at Meriden School, Sydney; CEO at Telstra Child Fight; CEO for Philmark Fundraising Consultancy, Business Development Manager at Westpac LifeSaver Helicopter and as Fundraising Manager at Motor Neuron Disease Association NSW and has done remarkable work to pursue goals that help charities and not-for-profits in raising funds, creating goodwill and rolling out effective campaigns.
Judy’s passion for fundraising combined with her dedication to her work has helped many organisations achieve strategic growth and build positive branding along with raising funds for a positive business outlook.
Judy has a Master of Education, holds a Diploma in Management, Certificate in Digital and Direct Marketing, and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She is a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FFIA) with six years as a board member, is an active member of Rotary since 1994 and is a member of the management committee at St. John’s Care in Canberra.
Having both parents die from CHD, born with a heart murmur and having suffered from heart failure due to coronavirus-19, Judy has a keen interest in heart disease.
